Pass It Along to host annual dodgeball event

Sparta — Hundreds of dodgeballers will converge at the Fieldhouse in Sparta on Saturday, Jan. 18 to compete in the 6th annual "Dodge the Ball Battle" charity event.

The rules are right off the playground — if you're hit, you're out. Catch a ball and the thrower is out and one player from your side comes back in. The goal is to eliminate the opposing team and win the game.

Prizes are awarded for the top three teams, crowd favorite and more. All proceeds from this charity event will benefit Pass It Along, a non-profit organization providng volunteer opportunities, leadership development and self-discovery workshops for teenagers throughout Sussex and Warren Counties.

The event is open to all ages from high school and above, but space is limited to 30 teams. Check in is at 5 p.m. and the battle begins at 6 p.m. Teams must preregister online at www.passitalong.org. To sponsor or volunteer, contact Eleanor Young at eleanor@passitalong.org or call 973-726-9777.
