Sussex County YMCA plans golf outing

The Sussex County YMCA will host its fifteenth annual golf outing on Wednesday, May 24, at Ballyowen Golf Club in Hardyston.
This event will help to raise money for the many community benefits provided by the Y including the children, families and adults who cannot afford our programs and services. Financial assistance is available for the programs and services provided by the Y to our community. The Y is accessible to all people.
In 2016, the Y provided assistance to 323 youth, families, adults and seniors with over $200,000 in direct financial assistance including: 207 children were able to attend summer camp; 254 youth, adults, families and seniors were provided assistance with membership; 18 of the children enrolled in our before and after school programs receive financial assistance.
In addition to direct financial assistance, the Y provides programs such as the Livestrong at the YMCA, a 12-week program for cancer survivors and Y First Physicians referral program at no cost. Sussex County YMCA provided Safety Around Water, a free community outreach program focused on both instruction and safety around water to over 330 children in our community in 2016. The Y currently is providing 208 free memberships to middle school students in order to encourage youth to live healthy lifestyles and make responsible choices.
The 15th Annual Golf Outing is an opportunity for you to participate in an event that makes it possible for the Y to make a difference for so many children and families. We need the support of you and others in our community in order to ensure the success of our outing.
