Sussex County Community College women’s basketball player Kelsee Tironi broke the record for the Lady Skylander basketball team to become the all-time career scoring leader.

Tironi scored a 3-point basket late in a Jan. 23 game against Passaic County Community College to break the record. She finished with 13 points for the game and has 608 for her career. There are eight games remaining on the season.

The previous record holder was Katie Hartigan. Both Tironi and Hartigan were Wallkill Valley Regional High School graduates.

Tironi is a scholar athlete and in December was named SCCC Woman Student Athlete of the Year. She has been selected to represent the college at the National Association of Girls and Women in Sport recognition day to be held on Feb. 9 at Seton Hall University.

Tironi is also a two semester dean’s list honoree and a member of Phi Theta Kappa.
