VERNON — Patrick Graham scored two goals in the first period, leading Vernon to a 6-4 ice hockey win over West Morris Central.
Shane Brennan scored the third goal for Vernon in the first period pushing the score 3-0. D.J. Decker scored in the second period for Vernon.
Lance Krueger scored West Morris Central's first goal in the first period.
West Morris Central came on strong in the second period by scoring four goals. Ryan Hall recorded two goals and contributed one assist for West Morris Central. Lance Krueger and Kieran Gruby contributed one goal each.
In the third period with the score tied 4-4 T.J. Santana scored the go-ahead goal for Vernon with seven minutes left to play. Teammate Steven Gay contributed one more goal to seal the deal for an opening season win for Vernon.
