The Vernon Township High School High School Athletic Dept. named its athletes of the week for Week 10 of the winter season.
Senior Trevor Hazell just took 4th place in the pole vault this past weekend at the Group 2 Indoor Track Championships in Toms River at the Bennett Center. With a jump of 13 feet, 6 inches he qualified for the Meet of Champions. His jump tied his original Indoor record.
According to Head Coach Jim Saganiec, Trevor has always been a consistent and hard-working student of this event.
Sophomore Jack Bokun has been a steady contributor to this year’s ice hockey team. Jack regularly anchors the defense but adds depth to the team with his skating speed and offensive skill. Jack contributed 8 points this past week in Vernon’s HAAS Cup final and first round state playoff game. He totaled 3 goals and 5 assists.
Coach Zimmerman has been very pleased with Jack’s progress as a sophomore. Jack will be a tremendous asset to the Hockey Team in the future.
