A hole in one is a rare occurrence in golf. Many golfers play the game for a lifetime and never get a hole in one.
Buffy Whiting nailed an ace on Sept. 25 at the Wild Turkey Golf Club.
Whiting took her 5-wood out to get the ball to the back of the pin on the par 3 2nd hole pin, 133 yards away. A well-controlled swing put the ball in the air headed for the middle of the green with the ball landing and rolling toward the pin. At 133 yards it was unclear if the ball had gone in the hall or rolled past the pin.
As the two golfers approached the green it was clear that the ball was not to be seen. A look in the hole confirmed that the ball had found the bottom of the cup for her first hole-in-one.
She went on to score an 82 for the round.
When a golfer at Wild Turkey Golf Club gets a hole-in-one they must confirm the achievement with the National Hole-In-One Registry, HoleinOne.com, United States Golf Registry and register the accomplishment with the host golf club, the Crystal Springs Golf Resort. Being regulars at the Crystal Springs Golf Resort, General Manager Adam Donlin and Assistant Manager Katie Levin were happy to celebrated Whiting's accomplishment and documented the hole-in-one for the records.
