STOCKHOLM — Vernon Township High School defeated Pequannock Township High School, 7-1, in varsity ice hockey on Saturday, Nov. 26. The final score was 7-1.
The game took place at Skylands Ice World in Stockholm.
The Vernon Vikings wore yellow jerseys imprinted with the team logo and emblazoned with the words "Vinny's Avengers" to show support for classmate Vincent Ventriglia. Ventriglia, a resident of the Highland Lakes section of Vernon Township is battling Stage 4 cancer.
