Westys doing well at competitions

| 18 May 2016 | 01:03

The Westys Gymnastics Powerteam has been competing since January and has placed first or second at each competition they have attended. Their overall score went up 3 points from the first meet of the season to the last one.
The increase is due in part to their hard work and dedication to making themselves better individual gymnasts and also working together to be the best team that they can be. Their coaches, Paedyn Babcock of Franklin and Taylor Spina of Hamburg are so excited to see how much they have grown since their first practice as a team way back in September.
Powerteam programs have between 6-12 girls that compete together on floor tumbling skill passes , vault & mini tramp along with a dance and skill routine as well. Instead of competing as individuals, these gymnasts work extremely hard to have every part of their performance synchronized. The girls spend their practices stretching, doing basic skills and conditioning to improve their harder skills, fine tuning their timing all while developing bonds that strengthen them as a team.
Members of the Westys Powerteam are: Adrianna & Amanda Barone, Sabrina Dispenziere, Hanna Garafano, Emilee Kanet, Michelle Risko, Kaitlyn Logan, Maia Songer, Naa-Ashiley Hanson, Elizabeth Byra & Moya Lynch.
