State Fair tickets on sale

New Jersey State Fair July 31-Aug. 9 Advance tickets for the New Jersey State Fair/Sussex County Farm and Horse Show are on sale now. The public can purchase admission and carnival tickets as well as the popular Mega Pass online, at the Sussex County Fairgrounds, by mail and at local outlets. The fairgrounds are located at 37 Plains Road, Augusta, N.J. Admission tickets in advance are $9 for adults and $4 for children (ages 6-12), a savings of $2/$1. Carnival tickets are available in strips of 10 for $15. Mega Pass tickets, which combine admission and unlimited carnival rides for the day of your choice, are $25 for adults and $20 for children. Mail orders by check or credit card must be received by Friday, July 17. Phone orders charged to a credit card and online orders must be received by Friday, July 24. Tickets are available at the Fair Ticket Office on the fairgrounds Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. until July 30. Both admission and Mega Pass tickets are available at the following outlets until Thursday, July 30: Baker’s Pharmacy, Sussex; Chatterbox Restaurant and Yetter’s Diner, Augusta; The Chocolate Goat Gift Shoppe, Lafayette; Dale’s Market, Family Drug Store and Dee’s Place Luncheon, Branchville; Tweed Gift Shop in Sparta, Roy Bischoff Feed and Supply, Stillwater; North Country Pharmacy, Franklin; and the Sussex County branches of Lakeland State Bank, First Hope Bank, Sussex Bank and Tri-Co Federal Credit Union. Tickets to attractions in the Miller Lite Outdoor Entertainment Area are available by phone, online, or at the Fair Ticket Office. This year features two demo derbies, a modified tractor pull, a monster truck thrill show, a motorcycle thrill show and a concert by Somer’s Dream Orchestra/1910 Fruitgum Company.
