Students pen links of gratitude on paper chains

Wantage — Jeanne Heinke, who teaches the multiply disabled students at High Point High School, came up with a clever idea for a Thanksgiving activity that involved the whole school. Each home room teacher was given an envelope with cut paper chain links in it. The note attached read: The Multiply Disabled class is trying to have a schoolwide project involving gratitude. Please have every student (and yourself) write something that they are thankful for on a paper link. These links will then be put together and hung in our front High Point hallway. Heinke’s students assembled the paper chains all week. In all, the group created about 1,300 links. The chains were hung up Friday and will remain on display until after Thanksgiving.
