Sunny skies shone on Black Creek Celebration

Vernon — Native Americans demonstrating traditional dances were a highlight of the third annual Black Creek Site Celebration and Pow Wow, held Sunday, Oct. 4 at Maple Grange Park. The event included continuous American Indian dancing and regalia, historic presentations by Lenape Lifeways and foods by Sly Fox Den. Storytellers, a live wolf exhibit and other animal presentations along with a guided tour of the historic site rounded out the event, held under bright, sunny skies. Rain had cancelled the event from the previous week and the new date couldn’t have been more perfect. For more information, visit www.vernonhistoricalsociety.com.
