    Dec. 14 Patrick Doran, 20, of Stanhope pled guilty to the third crime of possession of a controlled dangerous substance. He admitted to possessing eight bags of heroin with trace amounts of the drug on July 14, 2008 in Stanhope during the course of a motor vehicle stop by Officer William Heater. Dec. 15 Zakary M. Ramirez, 22, of Hamburg was indicted with possession of a weapon (firearm) for unlawful purposes, a crime of the second degree, unlawful possession of a weapon (firearm), a crime of the third degree, aggravated assault, a crime of the fourth degree, terroristic threats, a crime of the third degree, unlawful possession of a weapon (stun gun), a crime of the fourth degree and hindering apprehension, a crime of the third degree. David J. Kozic, 50, of Montague was indicted with aggravated assault, a crime of the second degree and assault by auto, a crime of the fourth degree. Dec. 17 Richard Koppenaal, 38, of Branchville was sentenced to four years state prison with a credit of 64 days, subject to Megan’s Law parole supervision for life, restitution, fines, penalties. He pled guilty on July 16 to sexual assault, a second degree crime. Between September 28, 2007 and September 29, 2007, the defendant committed an act of sexual penetration with a minor male. Dec. 18 Brian M. Cummins, 56 of Vernon, was sentenced to two years probation and 30 days on the Sheriff’s Labor Assistance Program. He must also pay $37,820.92 in restitution. Cummins pled guilty on Oct. 26 to third degree theft. He admitted taking $37,820.92 between March of 2006 through October of 2009, while employed as a cashier at Mac & Lindy’s Liquor store. Megan E. Park, 21, of Vernon was sentenced to three years probation and 25 hours of community service. She must also pay $605.99 in restitution. Park pled guilty on Oct. 26 to third degree theft. She admitted that while employed by a Byram Township couple, she took a camera and jewelry valued at over $500 from their home. Dec. 21 Nicholas Brewer, 19, of Branchville, pled guilty to seven counts of third degree burglary and one count of attempted burglary. Brewer broke into various vehicles and homes (some with a co-defendant) taking various items between October of 2008 to March of 2009. He destroyed documents that he removed from a vehicle he broke into and also tried implicate another person for stealing a GPS system. Dec. 22 Lauren Hansen, 24, of Franklin pled guilty to vehicular homicide, a second degree crime and the motor vehicle offense of driving while intoxicated. Hansen admitted to recklessly driving her vehicle while intoxicated on Route 284 South in Wantage Township and crossing over the double yellow line, striking a motorcycle operated by Thomas Klosterhoff. Klosterhoff died as a result of the collision, which occurred on July 25, 2008.
