Dec. 23, 2008 Cindi E. Outer, 52 of Port Jervis, N.Y., was sentenced to 12 months in jail. She must also provide her DNA, pay court costs and pay $200 restitution to her victim. Outer pled guilty on Dec. 2, 2008 to fourth degree possession of a stolen credit card. She admitted to using a credit card stolen from a Sparrowbush, NY resident who was shopping at the Montague ShopRite to purchase cigarettes and other items at the Montague Citgo. Jan. 5, 2009 Christian Villarreal, 21, of Hamburg, was sentenced to four years drug court probation, 120 days county jail, intensive outpatient treatment, $1,205 in fines and a nine month loss of driver’s license. He pled guilty on Dec. 8, 2008 to the third degree crime of distribution of a controlled dangerous substance. He admitted to distributing a small amount of heroin to an individual cooperating with the Sussex County Narcotics Task Force in Hardyston Township on Oct. 23, 2007. Jan. 6 Michael P. Bowden, 24, of Hampton was indicted with second degree robbery and two counts of theft, one a crime of the third degree and one a crime of the fourth degree. The grand jury alleges that on Oct. 14, 2008 in Hampton Township, the defendant took a pocketbook from a woman at the Hampton Mini Mall as she was approaching her vehicle to leave. He dragged her onto the ground and then fled around the building to the rear loading area of the store. Glenn D. White, 43, of Newton was indicted with five counts of third degree theft, one count of fourth degree theft, five counts of third degree burglary, three counts of attempted burglary, three counts of fourth degree criminal mischief and one count of fourth degree resisting arrest. The grand jury alleges that between Dec. 10, 2007 and Jan. 23, 2008 the defendant broke into several Newton businesses and stole money and other items valued at several thousand dollars. In addition, the defendant is accused of stealing a car from a Newton resident. Edwin Garcia-Mahlon, 24, of Hamburg was indicted with burglary, a fourth degree crime. Donna M. Keene, 43, of Newton was indicted with four counts of fourth degree credit card theft, five counts of third degree fraudulent use of a credit card, third degree forgery and third degree uttering a forged document. The grand jury alleges that on March 26, the defendant took a wallet belonging to a Branchville resident while she was shopping at the Weis Market and used a credit card to make purchases at the Newton Rite Aid and withdraw money from the PNC Bank. On April 2, the defendant took a wallet belonging to a Stillwater resident while she shopped at the Newton WalMart and used a credit card to make purchases at Newton U-Save. On April 9, the defendant took a wallet belonging to a Wantage resident while she shopped at WalMart. The defendant removed cash from the wallet and used a credit card to make purchases at Cumberland Farms in Andover Township. On April 18, the defendant took a wallet belonging to a Newton resident while she shopped at Weis Market and used a debit card to make purchases at Newton Rite-Aid, Newton U-Save and Hampton Quick Chek. Jan. 7 Timothy V. McNamara, 51, of Branchville, pled guilty to fourth degree aggravated assault and a second offense driving while intoxicated. Sentencing is presently anticipated for March 6,. He admitted to driving while intoxicated on Sept. 24, 2006 in Andover Township and causing an accident involving another vehicle, resulting in the driver sustaining 18 stitches to his leg and the front seat passenger sustaining bruises to the head, arms and legs. Kenney Leake, 37 of Irvington was sentenced to three years probation with 180 days jail (three days credit). After release attend anger management classes and follow recommendations, no contact with the victim, gain full time employment, and submit a DNA sample. Fines and costs are in the amount of $205. Defendant admitted to assaulting a woman on April 26, 2008 causing injuries. Jan. 8 A juvenile pled guilty on to third degree possession of heroin. He was adjudicated a juvenile delinquent by the court. The juvenile, age 18, of Montague, was sentenced to 12 months probation, time already served in detention and a six-month loss of his driver’s license. He must also undergo a substance abuse evaluation and follow all recommendations, get his GED, submit a DNA sample, undergo random drug testing, testify truthfully against co-defendants, maintain part-time employment and pay $1070 in fines. In November, 2008, the juvenile possessed heroin while in Hardyston Township. Jan. 9 Gregory S. Claps, 39, of Stanhope was sentenced to four years in state prison. He must attend drug counseling, submit his DNA and pay $240 restitution to his victim. Claps pled guilty on Nov. 3, 2008 to third degree terroristic threats, fourth degree providing false information to police and third degree hindering his own apprehension. He admitted to displaying a rifle in the window of his home in a threatening manner toward a utility worker performing work outside the home. Upon his arrest, he provided the Byram Police with a falsified birth certificate in an attempt to hide his true identity. Robert Levy, 49, of Branchville pled guilty to the third degree crime of possession of a controlled dangerous substance. Sentencing is anticipated for Feb. 20. He admitted to possessing 23 bags of heroin in his home on Aug. 20, 2008. Edward A. Zubl, 37, of Sussex was sentenced to one year in state prison and was given credit for 64 days served. He must pay total fines and penalties of $905, submit a DNA sample at his expense and his driver’s license was suspended for 24 months. He pled guilty on Nov. 3, 2008 to unlawful taking of a means of conveyance, a fourth degree crime. The defendant, after spending the night at another person’s home, admitted to taking a van belonging to the homeowner without his consent and driving it to his own residence. A juvenile pled guilty on Nov. 6, 2008 to third degree theft. He was adjudicated a juvenile delinquent by the court. The juvenile, age 15, of Hopatcong, was sentenced to 12 months probation and 15 days in the Juvenile Detention Center with credit for four days and the balance suspended. He must also undergo a substance abuse evaluation and follow all recommendations, submit a DNA sample, undergo random drug testing, testify truthfully against his co-defendant, write a letter of apology to the victims, pay $45 in fines and restitution of $2557.65 joint and several to the victims. In October, in Hopatcong Boro, the juvenile and a juvenile co-defendant stole several bicycles from the back of a pickup truck Jan. 12 Michael Singer, 41, of Lafayette pled guilty to one count of child abuse, a fourth degree crime and lewdness, a D.P. offense. On or between Sept. 1, 2002 through Nov. 9, 2004 the defendant committed indecent and immoral acts with a minor under the age of 16. Fabian L. Rodriguez, 34, of Lafayette pled guilty to shoplifting, a third degree crime. Sentencing is presently anticipated for March 13. On April 24, 2008, the defendant took a Sharp 32” flat panel HD TV from a display stand at the Newton Shop-Rite, placed it in a shopping cart and attempted to leave the store without paying for the item. Robert Keenan, 30, of Highland Lakes pled guilty to unlawful taking of a means of conveyance, a third degree crime. Sentencing is presently anticipated for Feb. 20. On May 1, 2004 in Vernon, he took a vehicle belonging to another person without the owner’s consent or authorization. He failed to appear for an Early Disposition Conference on July 12, 2004, a bench warrant was issued for that failure to appear and the matter was then presented to the Grand Jury. Jan. 5 Martha J. Fendt, age 24, of Sparta pled guilty to the third degree crime of possession of a controlled dangerous substance. Sentencing is presently anticipated for Jan. 26. She admitted that on Oct. 6, 2008 she possessed 20 bags of heroin in her home. Jan. 9 James Spratley, age 29, of Newton, was sentenced to three years New Jersey State Prison. Spratley was also ordered to pay $205 in monetary penalties. He pled guilty on December 1, 2008, to aggravated assault, a third degree crime. Spratley admitted to the court that on or about July 19, 2008 he had assaulted an adult female during a domestic dispute causing significant bodily injury. As a result of Spratley’s guilty plea to the charge of aggravated assault, he violated the terms of a previously imposed probation sentence. Spratley had been placed on probation January 18, 2008 for a conviction for possession of cocaine, a third degree crime. Jan. 12 Patrick Homan, age 21, of Hopatcong pled guilty to the third degree crime of burglary. Sentencing is presently anticipated for Jan. 30. He admitted to entering a motor vehicle on October 20, 2008 in Hopatcong with the intent to steal money out of it. Morgan G. Hookway, age 22, of Stanhope pled guilty to three counts of third degree distribution of a controlled dangerous substance. Sentencing is presently anticipated for March 6, 2009. He admitted that on three occasions in January, 2008 he sold ecstasy to an undercover detective assigned to the Sussex County Narcotics Task Force. Matthew Cameron, age 25, of Hamburg pled guilty to possession of a destructive device, a third-degree crime. The plea came on the first day of trial, as the court began to assemble a jury panel. Charges were brought against Mr. Cameron as a result of a series of explosions, occurring on August 26, 2007 and August 27, 2007, in Hamburg and Hardyston Townships. The State alleged that on those dates, Mr. Cameron possessed Co2 cartridges filled with gun powder. Mr. Cameron then lit the cartridges and destroyed mail boxes, light-fixtures and a sign. The explosions caused damage to a motor vehicle, and a building in the Heritage Lakes Apartment complex. No injuries were reported. Mr. Cameron’s sentencing is scheduled for March 20, 2009, at 9:00 a.m. At sentencing, Mr. Cameron will face a possible six-month jail sentence and will be placed on probation for up to five years. As part of his plea agreement, Mr. Cameron agreed to make restitution to all of his victims. Joseph P. Sisko, age 38, of Wantage pled guilty to the second degree crime of criminal simulation, two counts of third degree theft by deception, one count of fourth degree theft by deception, one count of third degree receiving stolen property and one count of fourth degree issuing a bad check. Sentencing is presently anticipated for Feb. 9. He admitted that in May, 2008 he counterfeited a New Jersey driver’s license through the use of a computer and then used that license to issue what turned out to be worthless checks to various merchants in order to obtain goods and property. Jan. 13 Dennis Peterson, age 44, of Stanhope pled guilty to one count of Title 9 Child Abuse, a fourth degree crime. On or about August 13, 2008 the defendant urinated in a public place while in view of a minor child. Detective Mark Pullis and Trooper Eric Clowes of the New Jersey State Police. Milner was represented by Steven Insley, Esq. and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor, Rachelle C. Jones. Jan. 15 A juvenile pled guilty on Dec. 18, 2008, to second degree endangering the welfare of a child and two counts of fourth degree child abuse. He was adjudicated a juvenile delinquent by the court. The juvenile, age 18 (age 17 at time of crime), of Glenwood, was sentenced to three consecutive 60-day commitments in the Juvenile Detention Center with 60 days suspended and credit for 33 days. He will then remain on probation for three years until his 21st birthday. He also has a six-month loss of his driver’s license. Other conditions of probation are to submit a DNA sample, undergo random drug testing, testify truthfully against co-defendant(s), employment when not in school and pay court fines of $210. During the month of August 2008, in Vernon, the juvenile and several co-defendants provided marijuana and alcohol to a 6-year-old child, and encouraged the child to consume alcohol and smoke marijuana on multiple occasions. A juvenile pled guilty to third degree burglary and fourth degree theft. He was adjudicated a juvenile delinquent by the court. The juvenile, age 14, of Vernon, was sentenced to 12 months probation and a six-month loss of his driver’s license. He must also complete 30 hours of community service, have no contact with the victim, submit a DNA sample, undergo random drug testing and pay courts fines of $105. In July 2008, the juvenile and several juvenile co-defendants broke into a vehicle in Vernon taking an MP3 player and FM transmitter. They then broke into a business trailer and took 13 snowboards. Jan. 16 Louis Grochowski, age 50 of Sickleville was sentenced to probation for two years. As a condition of his probation, Grochowski is to perform 50 hours of community service, to pay costs and penalties in the amount of $155, and to pay $2165 in restitution to the victim. He pled guilty on Nov. 3, 2008, to criminal mischief, a third degree crime. At the time he entered his guilty plea, Grochowski admitted that he had damaged personal property belonging to an adult female during the course of a domestic violence incident. Grochowski was represented by Kevin McLaughlin, Esq. and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Robin Lawrie. Daniel E. Lee, age 32 of Effort, Pennsylvania was sentenced to four years in New Jersey State Prison. In addition he must submit a DNA sample and pay court costs and fines. Lee pled guilty on Nov. 3, 2008 to two counts of third degree theft. He admitted to entering a residential locked garage belonging to Montague resident and taking a .22 Marlin rifle, two Stihl leaf blowers, gas cans and a case of beer. Blair R. Milner, Jr,, age 29 of Frankford, was sentenced to four years probation and 60 days of the Sheriff’s Labor Assistance Program. He will be required to submit his DNA, obtain employment and pay his victims a total of $12,282.57. Milner pled guilty on Nov. 5, 2008 to four counts of third degree receiving stolen property. In separate occasions, he admitted to being in possession of two Car-Mate trailers that were reported stolen from Hampton Body Works, a 2007 Renegade snowmobile trailer containing four snowmobiles that were reported stolen from Muller’s Auto Sales of Milford, Pennsylvania and a 2006 Haulmaster car-hauler trailer loaded with RV parts stolen from Escape RV, Inc. of Branchville. A juvenile, who pled guilty on Dec. 4, 2008 to second degree burglary, was adjudicated a juvenile delinquent by the court. The juvenile, age 18 (age 17 at time of the offense), of Highland Lakes, was sentenced to 60 days in the Juvenile Detention Center with credit for seven days. He will also have to serve three years probation. As conditions of probation he must undergo random drug testing, submit a DNA sample, attend school every day and follow home and school rules, have no contact with the victim, pay $940 in restitution to the victim and $75 in court fines. In October the juvenile broke into a home in Vernon and took a 9mm handgun. Then the juvenile and two co-defendants drove to Paterson and sold the gun. Michael J. Callahan, age 24, of Washington (Warren County) was charged with attempted endangering the welfare of a child, a second degree crime. The arrest came about as a result of an investigation conducted by members of the Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office, High Tech Crimes Unit. The arrest stemmed from an investigation in which Michael J. Callahan allegedly engaged in sexually explicit conversations via the Internet with what he believed was a 14-year-old female. Timothy Russell, age 48 of Staten Island, New York, was sentenced to probation for 12 months. As a condition of his probation, Russell is to perform 100 hours of community service and to pay costs and penalties in the amount of $280. He pled guilty on Dec. 1, 2008, to forgery and tampering with a public record, both fourth degree crimes. At the time he entered his guilty plea, Russell admitted that he had altered New Jersey State Police receipt, forged his wife’s signature to the receipt and submitted the altered receipt to the Superior Court-Family Part. Jan.20 Michael Gibbs, age 35, of Randolph pled guilty to third degree unlawful taking means of conveyance, fourth degree obstruction administration of law and driving under the influence. Sentencing is presently anticipated for March 20. On Nov. 10, 2007, defendant broke into a vehicle and took the car. He then drove the car into a tree. Gibbs fled on foot leaving the scene thus hindering his apprehension by the Morristown Police. Daniel Wancura, age 24, of Newton pled guilty to criminal trespass, a fourth degree crime. Sentencing is presently anticipated for Feb. 20. On March 8, 2008, Wancura and a co-defendant entered an empty residence that was under construction in Hardyston Township without the owner’s knowledge or consent. Both gave statements to police admitting to the trespass.
