Oct. 13 Samuel J. Alston, 20, of Newton pled guilty to two counts of the third crime of distribution of a controlled dangerous substance in a school zone. He admitted that on July 21 he sold a small amount of cocaine in the Town of Newton to an individual cooperating with the Sussex County Guns, Gangs and Narcotics Task Force. He also admitted on Aug. 4 he assisted another person in the sale of a small amount of cocaine to an individual cooperating with the Sussex County Guns, Gangs and Narcotics Task Force. Both sales occurred within 1,000 feet of St. Joseph’s Elementary School. Mark Gero, 53, of Newton pled guilty to the third degree crime of attempting to defraud the administration of a drug test. He admitted that on July 14 in Newton he attempted to avoid giving a true sample of his urine during the course of a drug test administered by Parole Officer Eric Caravella. Alexander Kalamar, 21, of Franklin pled guilty to the third crime of distribution of a controlled dangerous substance. He admitted to distributing a small amount of cocaine to an undercover detective assigned to the Sussex County Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Task Force on May 5, 2008 in Franklin. Oct. 15 A juvenile pled guilty to third degree criminal attempt and two motor vehicle summonses. He was adjudicated a juvenile delinquent by the court. The juvenile, 17, of Hamburg, was sentenced to 30 days in the Juvenile Detention Center with 10 days credit for time served and a six-month loss of his driver’s license. He must also submit a DNA sample and pay $389 in fines. In September the juvenile was involved in a motor vehicle stop for speeding. During this stop it was found that he had just taken a camcorder with attachments from the Franklin Walmart and had attempted to take a 42” LCD television. Oct. 19 Ralph Sabin, 32, of Woodbridge pled guilty to receiving stolen property, a fourth degree crime. Jose Mauro Perez Dominguez, 25, of Sussex, pled guilty to joyriding, a fourth degree crime. Kyle Mullen, 19, of Stanhope entered a guilty plea to an accusation charging him with one count for the third degree charge of theft. Mullen also entered a guilty plea to a second accusation charging him with one count for third degree burglary and one count of third degree theft. Mullen admitted that on or about July 8 he had entered a residence in Andover Township and removed a television set without the owner’s permission. Mullen also admitted that on or about July 28 he had attempted to steal approximately $500 in currency from an adult female. Oct. 20 Danielle A. Assante, 24, of Andover pled guilty to third degree theft. She admitted to taking a wedding ring belonging to an Andover resident.
