Teddy bears on the march
| 21 Feb 2012 | 12:32
Vernon The Children’s School celebrated the start of school this year with a teddy bear parade and picnic. On a crisp, sunny morning at the Children’s School, strains of “The Teddy Bear Picnic” could be heard. The children marched to the rhythm, clutching their favorite “teddy bears” and the “teddy bear” puppets they made at school. After a morning of marching, freeze dancing and parachute play, a special snack of Teddy Grahams and juice was enjoyed by all. Big smiles and teddy bears abounded. The Children’s School, located at 24 Sammis Road, Vernon, was founded in 1967 and was the first school in the area to be accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
