The case of the missing mile marker

WANTAGE — An historic mile marker has mysteriously disappeared along Cemetery Road in Wantage Township. The stone mile marker reads“48 miles to Hoboken or Jersey City” and was first noticed missing from its long-standing position near Ike’s Car Wash & Discount Gas at the end of November, said Wantage Township Deputy Mayor Bill DeBoer. The mile marker “has been there forever” and is similar in appearance to a milepost that’s located on Libertyville Road said DeBoer.
