FRANKLIN — Third grade students from Ogdensburg School visited the ShopRite of Franklin recently to participate in the Young Consumer Day program. This program incorporates budgeting, money handling and nutrition as the students become the primary shoppers for a family of four on a $100 budget. Valuable life skills are learned as the young shoppers participate in hands-on learning and activities that encourage critical thinking and problem solving. Assisting the young shoppers were parent volunteers and eighth grade students who manned the activity tables set up around the store. This is the seventh year that RoNetco Supermarkets has been hosting the program.
