Time to clean up the town
FRANKLIN In an effort to “make our town shine,” the borough’s economic development committee is sponsoring its annual Franklin Community Clean Up Day, officially scheduled for Saturday, April 18, from 8 a.m. until noon. Organizers of the event, including Economic Development Committee member Betty Allen, are asking “residents, businesses and organizations” to devote a few hours of their time to help the town become litter free. The clean up will be held rain or shine, and everyone participating is asked to bring a rake, gloves and even a friend or two to help out. Clean-up crews will meet at the Franklin Heritage Museum at 8 a.m. and will be dispatched to other areas of town “or they can pick an area of their own,” Allen said. Lunch is expected to be provided at 1 p.m., following the conclusion of cleanup activities. “It’s an opportunity to clean up the remains of winter and greet the coming of spring with a new, clean face,” Allen said. “We will be working all areas of town.” Fore more information, call borough hall at 973-827-9280.
