Feb. 22 At 9:58 p.m. Patrolmen William Terrill and Charles Reid were dispatched to investigate a one-car accident with no injuries on Henry Road, in Hewitt. At the scene, it was determined that Catherine R. Brown, 27, of the Hewitt section of West Milford ran off the road and struck several large boulders. Her 1998 blue Ford Explorer sustained heavy damage. Further investigation at the scene resulted in her arrest and she was transported to Vernon Police headquarters, where she was charged with careless driving, driving while intoxicated, failure to inspect motor vehicle, failure to exhibit a valid registration, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia, marijuana pipe. She was released pending an appearance in Vernon Township Municipal Court.
