On Sunday, March 19, the Vernon Township Police Department dispatch center received numerous false 911 telephone calls from an address located on Edsall Drive. As each 911 call was received the female caller became more and more abusive, using profanity and making threats to the police dispatchers and the police officers on-duty at the time. After the eleventh false 911 call was placed from the Edsall Drive address, Vernon officers responded to the home and placed Elaine Villano, age 59, under arrest for creating a false public alarm. She was transported to Vernon Police headquarters and charged with creating a false public alarm, a fourth degree crime. She was processed and released to a family member pending a Vernon Court appearance on April 28.
