VERNON POLICE

Dec. 20 At approximately 1:08 p.m. Vernon Police responded to a motor vehicle crash in the parking lot of the Mountain Creek ski resort. The driver of the motor vehicle, Mr. S. Knapp of Bayonne, struck two parked vehicles and then two pedestrians before finally coming to rest in a pedestrian walkway which separates two parking areas. The two pedestrians, a 53-year-old male and a 6-year-old female, that were struck by the vehicle were air-lifted to Morristown Memorial Hospital via Medi-Vac helicopter. The driver of the vehicle was issued two motor vehicle summonses. There have not been any criminal charges issued, though the investigation is ongoing.
