Vernon youth wins $2,500 PAL scholarship

vernon - Brian Mezejewski of Vernon PAL received the national PAL Student of the Year award at the organization’s recent annual convention in Cleveland, Ohio. Mezejewski was chosen for the many hours he has put into his local PAL and on behalf of his community. He has been on the Vernon Youth Leadership Council for two years and has taken leadership roles in a number of activities, including Earth Day, Harvest House, Vernon’s Halloween events and tree lighting, clean up of Barrett Road, and others. Mezejewski and his father attended the Cleveland conference as invited guests. He will attend Johnson and Wales University in Providence, R.I., in the fall.
