Vernon's got talent

Students put on a show for the benefit of the Lajilo Mission School in South Africa. The money they raised goes entirely toward building the school’s curriculum and toward its building fund. There were more than 20 acts on the program last Thursday night, featuring teachers and students. The show raised over $2,000. Vernon students continue to support this “small sister school,” by selling T-shirts, student-made earrings and donating proceeds that will be earned during an upcoming teacher denim day, said Lisa Hirkaler, Vernon art teacher.
