SUSSEX — Pamela Wisse, the lone candidate to apply for the Wantage Township seat on the Sussex-Wantage Regional School District’s Board of Education following Arthur Jacobs’ resignation, was elected to the post by a unanimous vote on Sept. 30. Wisse ran for one of the three open seats at the school board’s most recent election in April. In that election, Craig Coykendall, Lisa Frisbie and Theresa Pastore were elected to replace former board members Raymond Delbury, Ann Smulewicz and Diane Snure, each of whom chose not to run for re-election. Moments before being named to the position, Wisse told other members of the school board that she was “excited” about helping “the board move forward in a positive direction” and to help the group to be “fiscally responsible.” Wisse will hold the post through the remainder of Jacobs’ term, which expires in April 2010. Jacobs resigned in August after experiencing health problems.
