Working Together

Perhaps the Publication Design class’s proudest effort was the work they did with Vernon Township High School’s Life Skills class. During the year, students in the Life Skills class, which runs the Breakfast Club, provided breakfast for the yearbook staff every Tuesday and Thursday morning. As a result, yearbook advisor James Labar invited the Breakfast Club members to work with the yearbook staff to design their own page in this year’s book. “The students were exposed to new opportunities,” said Support Services teacher Jean Bailly-Orlovsky. The cooperative program allowed for special needs students to experience the process that is involved in creating the visual property. Students had the ability to work with the computers and scanners to make the page their own.”
