NEWTON — The newly opened Breathing Room Yoga and Healing Arts Center will host an open house during Wilbur’s Country Fair, on Saturday and Sunday, July 11 and 12, featuring class, treatment demos and give-aways. Owner and yoga instructor Cheryl Paulson is a mother of four, who started practicing yoga to heal herself and grew to love the practice so much she became a teacher. Paulson wanted to create a “green space” supporting a community of practitioners and students of various persuasions, ages and levels of fitness. Her vision is for each and every person who enters Breathing Room to see “our space as a haven, a time to focus on you, a time to practice self-care.” At the recent grand opening ceremony, Paulson’s mentor and teacher Padmasri led a circle of students and well wishers in kirtan chanting, drumming and percussion. Padmasri offered a blessing to infuse the space with positive energy and good intentions. Breathing Room offers a place to relax, revive and rev up energies. This cooperative center has a mix of holistic movement, meditative and motivational classes for health and well-being. Classes are offered in yoga for all levels, from kids to seniors, karate for kids to adults, tai chi, hula hooping for beginners, teens and advanced, belly dancing for beginners and advanced. Workshops will be offered throughout the year in nutrition, energy healing and personal growth. For schedules and updates, visit www.breathingroomcenter.com. Breathing Room is located at 735 Route 94, next to Wilbur’s Country Market, between Blairstown and Newton.
