In appreciation of the Vernon clergy

Ecumenical Lenten Services were held throughout Vernon from Feb. 20 through to sunrise service on Easter Sunday, March 31.

They afforded the opportunity for people from all of the churches in our town to come together as one to journey, reflect and praise during the Lenten Season.

Services were held at each of the community churches with a rotation of sermons given by a different church’s leader.

It was a magnificent experience which took thoughtful planning and a great deal of preparation time on the part of the Vernon clergy, including Msgr. Jack Boland of St Francis DeSales RC Church, Rev. Chris Bruesehoff of Holy Counselor Lutheran Church, Msgr. Bob Carroll of Our Lady of Fatima RC Church, Rev. Nick Fontana of Love Faith & Fellowship McAfee Bible Church, Rev. Edjir Jean of Glenwood Baptist Church, Rev. Eunice Vega-Perez of Vernon United Methodist Church and Rev. Roger Spence of Faith Community Church.

They joined their churches as one; to be together during Lent and to reach out to help those in need. All offering proceeds went directly to The Vernon Clergy Fund. This fund was created to offer financial assistance to those in need within the Vernon community.

Thank you very much to the leaders in the Vernon clergy who made this an unforgettable experience.

Your efforts, commitment to our community and faith are an inspiration.
