Responding to the ‘better way for towns to balance budgets’ letter

    To the Editor:

Tris Tristan, who responded to my letter about the marijuana referendum, clearly missed the point. Do you not understand, Tris, that the voters approved the referendum by a two-thirds vote, both countywide and statewide? The voters have spoken!

You want to totally ignore the will of the electorate to satisfy your own sense of morality. That’s not how democracy works. And the leaders of the towns who are ignoring their residents — that is, voters — will pay the price at the polls.

You’re in the minority, Tristram. You don’t get to impose your will on the majority.
