Sewer accomodations for industry

There has been talk in Vernon for installing sewers to bring in industry and ratables. This sounds like a good idea, but he logistics of Vernon are not very good. Besides being located away from major hubs, the single-lane roads will not be very accomodating. For instance, when the ShopRite complex was opened in Sparta, it took one driver over 15 minutes to go a little over a mile and this is at 2 in the afternoon. The traffic problem on Route 15 will get even worse when the hundreds of residents in the housing units move in. Rush-hour traffic will be unbearable. Route 23 is not much better, thus no major industry will even consider locating in Vernon, sad to say.

As far as I can see, Vernon has basically been a bedroom community and that appears to be the case for the future.

Town officials should take a breather and carefully think about going in a different direction for the best interests of the taxpayers in the future. Pouring more money into the sewers is a fiasco. I don't think that would be a wise decision.
