Dog parks in Sussex County, NJ
Newton Dog Park: Memory Park, 111 Moran St.
The Newton Dog Park at the end of South Park Drive near the Park and Ride opened on Jan. 13, 2023. It has two fenced-in areas, one of 5,100 square feet for small dogs and one of 20,575 square feet for large dogs. Newton Girl Scout Troop #97171 raised $3,200 to fund composite benches.
Wantage Dog Park: 128 County Road 628
The Wantage Dog Park has a 4+ acre fenced park to allow large dogs to run off-leash and another area for small, elderly or shy dogs. It is open daily until 10 p.m.
Vernon Dog Park: County Road 517
The Dog Owners Gathering Society manages the dog park on County Route 517 North of Sammis Road which has two acres of fenced grassland. D.O.G.S provides communal water bowls and poop bags. Treats are not allowed.
Jefferson Field Dog Park: 155 Jefferson Trail, Hopatcong
This dog park is located just outside Sussex County in Hopatcong, offering separate areas for large and small dogs, and obstacle-course equipment for pups to explore.
