Lounsberry Hollow student art on display

Artwork by students at Lounsberry Hollow School is on display at the Vernon Township Board of Education building during January.

The pieces were selected by art teacher Erik Villanueva.

They include work by:

• Fourth-graders Nadia Manoo, Johnny Fuchs, Vivien Aluotto, Tessa Batz, Nicolette Brock and Amber Islami, who made paper alien puppets after learning about kinetic art.

• Julia Obrotka, Tyler Thomas, Madi McHugh, Amaris Wright, Alexa Curry and Carolynn Kansas, who did self-portraits/memes after learning about Roy Lichtenstein and modern Pop Art.

• Fifth-graders Chase Berberich, Aeriana Braden, Ava Denaxas and Lena Kaye, who made three-dimensional masks after a unit on African and tribal-style masks and the use of found objects.

• Sammie DeNora, Paige Grundy, Elle Aumick and Tobit Dalelio, who created deconstructed mind maps after learning about conceptual art.
