The Crystal Springs Golf Management made the 4th and final Crystal Cup Qualifying Tournament more interesting by requiring golfers to compete in the event to follow the novel Las Vegas Scramble Roll of the Dice Format.

This did not deter Members and guests for signing up to attempt to qualify for the end of the golf season Crystal Cup Championship scheduled for Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at the Ballyowen Golf Club.

The Las Vegas Scramble is a golf competition format for 2-person teams that is a variation of a regular scramble and involves the use of a 6-sided die (one-half of a standard pair of dice).

Following the completion of play prizes were awarded to the teams that achieved the lowest low gross team and the team that cards the lowest low net score after the reduction of the team handicap.

The Team of Peter McIntyre and Bob Spetz was able to play the best golf and survive the luck of the role of die to achieve a score of 6 under par 66. The winners of the low net competition was the team of Joe Green and Mark Kurtz who carded a low net score of 68.

Prizes were also awarded to golfers who were the best performers in closest to the pin and long drive competitions. The longest drive on hole #6 was achieved by David Campbell. A tee shot by Glen Hartung came to rest 7’ 8” from the cup to capture the prize for hole #7 with Perry Kasturas bettering Hartung success with a shot that was 3’ 2” from the pin on hole #14.
